Abstract: While aiming at creating an overview of the historical developments that influenced prostitution policies in Malta from the twentieth century onward, one notices that policies regulating practices of prostitution existed before. Thus, this historical overview aims at integrating the most salient parts of the changes in policies, some of which were amended and still exist nowadays. This historical outline also explains that Malta was an experimental ground for the British in the implementation of these policies.
