Abstract: This dissertation investigates and analyses the relationship between organisational communication and job satisfaction. The rationale for this research is to explain the benefits of internal communication to businesses. Various elements which uncover the nature of organisational relationships are elements such as trust, managerial influence, organisational communication barriers, feedback, and communication climate and communication satisfaction have been analysed in depth. These elements of organisational communication must be considered and improved so as to increase efficiency and also to make the employees feel job satisfaction. The data collection method involved both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, in order to analyse this study from more than just one perspective. The data consisted of 203 survey respondents and twelve interviewees highly familiar with the Human Resources area. The results of this empirical study appear to be consistent with the arguments presented in the literature review. Both the quantitative and qualitative data suggest that there is a positive relationship between organisational communication satisfaction and job satisfaction. The strength of this relationship is further enhanced when it is compared to the correlation between salary and job satisfaction, which is a weaker correlation. The same can be said for the relationship between opportunities for promotion and job satisfaction. This research and a relevant literature review indicates that effective organisational communication cannot be taken lightly as it has been described as essential and fundamental for job satisfaction.
