| Abstract: | The brilliant civilization that blossomed in the wake of the all-conquering Arab armies left an indelible mark on countries stretching from Spain to India. Through the medium of the Arabic language, Muslim, Jew, and Christian were united in a common culture, which appears all the more remarkable when it is compared to the general darkness that had eclipsed most of Europe following the division of the Roman Empire. |
