Abstract: Power is the ability to get things done, to make others do what you want - even if they do not want to do it. A variety of means can be used to persuade people to do things, but power always has as its base the ability to reward or punish. From this outline it becomes clear that power is not something that only exists at a national or international level; power exists wherever people are involved in relationships - at a family level, in school, in work, or even when playing sports.
