| Abstract: | The project explores the combination of the tactile, aural and visual senses, thus creating a link between them. Three people were chosen to participate in semi-structured in-depth interviews to reflect three stages of life. Through qualitative research soundscapes were created using recorded sounds, which aim to renew a sense of attachment to the three different stages of life; birth and childhood, teenage and adult life, and elderly life and death. Shapes, points and lines visually come together in the form of three artworks forming a three-sided column, which are created using conductive paint. The research proved that we do in fact associate particular sounds with past memories and this forges subjective feelings to the viewer. This interactive project resulted in creating a journey through life, experienced visually, aurally and tactually. |
