The Grupp Filateliku taż-Żejtun was set up by the Zejtun Local Council, in January 2002, and is the first and only local philatelic club in Zejtun. The Group initially was run by Anthony Seychell, at the time Councillor responsible for Culture, History and Tourism. Meetings of Grupp Filateliku taż-Żejtun are held on the last Tuesday of the month at the Zejtun Local Council in Triq Sant 'Angelo. Since the beginning there was interest in Zejtun for an annual exhibition of philatelic material by members of the same philatelic group. In fact the first philatelic exhibition was held in September 2002 and has been held ever since.
