A perfect match

Abstract

This article deals with the exhibition of two Maltese artists in Art..e Gallery in Victoria, Gozo. The artists, Andrew Diacono and Debbie Caruana Dingli, are painters and it is their third collaboration in almost thirty years. Caruana Dingli's work is often humorous. She places the themes in a contemporary social context and adapted them to cartoon-like figures where the absurd takes centre stage. According to the journalist, Diacono's iconography is simpler than that of Caruana Dingli's, but his output is equally cerebral, although his art works lean towards simplicity and minimalism, leaving a lot of room for contemplation.
