Abstract: This article is the sequel of the article 'The Maċina- Transformation of a masting crane' by Michael Cassar, published in the Times of Malta on the 31 December 2017. The Maċina, the masting crane from 1629 located in Senglea, became redundant after the 160-ton hydraulic crane was built in 1885.The Maċina and its environs were put to different uses and a signalling station was set up on the roof. After the war the area around the Maċina went into decline, not least owing to extensive bombing damage. In 2016, it was leased to Von del' Heyden Group to be converted into a 21-suite boutique hotel.
