Abstract: Many accuse youth of making poor use of their free time. Some say that the youth of today are alienated and do not enjoy their leisure time. But do we provide suitable leisure activities for our children? This paper examines the importance of youth work and effective leadership in the co-ordination of alternative leisure activities. Interventions aimed at encouraging the appropriate use of free time are also indicated.
