Abstract: The angels of the title are our paediatric patients. The thunderbolts - could well be punishments hurled by Zeus on contemporary descendants of Aesculapius who all too frequently trip in the common pitfalls of paediatric surgery. More frequently the thunderbolts refer to the cries of anguish (commonly called swear - words) coming from the Surgeon who has to deal with the problem.
