Abstract: The present study investigates the satisfaction levels of the public over the Malta Police Force. The aim of this research was to assess what the priorities of the population are, make a comparison with the priorities of the Malta Police Force, and note any matching or conflicting ideas. The study also sets out to determine whether the trust levels of the public towards the police, have positively or negatively increased throughout the last sixteen years, since this dissertation was aimed also to be a follow-up of another study conducted in 2001 (Abdilla, 2001). The results acquired from this study suggest that the Maltese Police Force is currently providing its population with satisfactory levels of service. Yet, negative feedback has increased throughout when placed in comparison with Abdilla’s research.
