| Abstract: | Hermetic art is a multifaceted tradition. In the past, images which displayed esoteric elements often went hand in hand with alchemical culture; portraying alchemists and their environment. Mystical symbols and themes have always pervaded popular culture. The legend of the alchemist- huddled over bubbling flasks, immersed in his quest for the elusive philosopher's stone which will change a mass of molten lead into gold- has inspired continual fascination amongst the general public. |
