| Abstract: | Gozo suffered substantially under numerous monarchs during the Medieval period. Leopardi states that the Gozitans grew to dislike the constant change of masters hence resulting in the petition to integrate Malta and Gozo to King Ludovico of Sicily’s crown lands. |
