Abstract: This study aims to discover the perceptions of university students on immigration and crime, as well as analyse whether these students think that certain categories of immigrants (age, sex, source of origin, religion) are more prone to engage in criminal behaviour. This is done by looking at existing literature and theories on this topic, and then compare them to the results gathered in this study. This study takes on a quantitative approach, and the research tool chosen is that of online questionnaires. The sample of this study is that of 75 university students, whose results were gathered and analysed. It is found that the majority of these university students think that a relationship between immigration and crime does not exist. All results obtained from this questionnaire are discussed, and recommendations are made for further research regarding this topic.
