| Abstract: | The predation by Yellow-legged Gulls Larus cachinnans on Storm Petrels Hydrobates pelagicus on Filfla is higher than previously thought. Gulfs nesting below the cliffs, where the petrels' nest sites are found, are those which predate mostly on the petrels. From an analysis of pellets collected in summer, it seems that migratory birds form a major part of the gulls' diet during the spring migration. |
