Abstract: Luttrell writes an exhaustive historical document of the Maltese islands from medieval times until the 17th century- a time during which the careers of historiographer Giovanni Francesco Abela and Jesuit scholar Girolamo Manduca flourished. In this article, the author investigates the history of Christianity in Malta, the origin and development of the Maltese language and various other dense areas of Maltese history.
