| Abstract: | Camenzuli digs deep in the history of football to unearth information about an obscure football team that was established by Maltese immigrants in the United States during the early years of the 20th century. With the aid of a handful of photographs, the author managed to put together a historical time frame of the club- Sons of Malta F.C. The club enjoyed numerous fruitful seasons in the Detroit American Soccer League, winning the Miller Trophy in 1922 as well as the championship on multiple occasions. One of the photographs that Camenzuli shares is evidence of the club's success when, on the 12th of February 1923, a small portion of space on the journal of the Detroit Free Press was dedicated to the Sons of Malta F.C. after winning yet another championship. |
