Abstract: Debono conducted research about commerce in the Mediterranean during the 18th century in which countries such as Spain, Italy and Malta all featured. At the time, Malta enjoyed fruitful cotton yields and, as a result, numerous countries queued up to purchase the produce. The author discusses this with a commerce-oriented approach as well as a historical one.
