Abstract: Every aspect of the law and each legal sector follow a structured timeline of development. The Gaming sector has proved to be one of the most interesting and innovative spheres that has set foot on the island and this is shown through its unique buildout. Realistically, although the focus in recent years revolved around online gambling, everyone seems to have forgotten the roots of the sector. Land Based Gambling, in the form of casinos, has been around and regulated for approximately twenty years and it has never stopped developing, similar to what has happened with online gambling. However, has the focus on online gambling and its popularity, won over the attention that Land Based casinos were afforded for such a long time? This is the million dollar question that motivated this study to take its shape. Although gaming is an important sector both socially and economically, the risks that are attached to it were always known and inevitable. It was essential to start with the law, to update, improve and amend the whole pediment on which everything else is constructed. This research will assess the preliminary realisation of the well needed legal revamp together with the results that stemmed out of this overhaul. Particular attention will also be directed towards assessing foreign frameworks in order to compare and contrast systems which serve as an all rounded analysis. This process will be directed towards one specific area, that of Land Based Casinos, for as explained above, their relevance is still felt and which is definitely highlighted in the result of this whole study. By taking an innovative approach, this research will serve as a pioneer for more discussion and will prompt more measures for future amendments that will follow suit.
