Abstract: | The study of history and of the rise and fall of civilisations is simple enough if one limits himself to a mere chronicle of occurrences, but as soon as one attempts to detect and trace any specific factor which has initiated events and determined their cause, then unless one is on his guard, one may be opening the door to the personal factor, inseparable from judgement, and possibly to a multitude of errors. |
