In 1957 a total of 153 Haemophilic families in Great Britain was recorded. Comparing the population of Britain and Malta and assuming the same incidence ratio, one would expect to find only one family of Haemophiliacs in Malta, whereas, in fact, 18 affected families are known. Since the number of units comprising a family in Malta was higher than in Britain, then there is a relatively higher incidence in Malta than is suggested by the above comparison. The greatest number of reported cases of Haemophilia occurs among the Germanic peoples of Northern Europe, Great Britain and North America. Fewer cases are reported among the Latin races, and in the Asiatic and Negro races it seems to be almost unknown.en_GB
