Citation: When is doom? : reasons for the unpredictability of forecasts of the drying of rivers, wetlands and groundwaters / S.M. Haslam. 5 p.
Abstract: Predictions of doom are frequent: in terms of water resources as well as of population, food, disease, etc. They are based on the circumstances and knowledge of their period, and are usually wrong, at least in part. This paper considers three reasons why such predictions of the death and loss of rivers, wetlands and groundwaters may fail.
