Abstract: Over the past years, the number of Maltese people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis has increased. This study aimed to show the relevance of two imaging modalities in the diagnosis and prognosis of Multiple Sclerosis. The imaging modalities chosen, were Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. A literature review was done to achieve the aims of the study. Although Computed Tomography when combined with other tests assured almost 100% sensitivity, Magnetic Resonance Imaging remained the modality of choice. Magnetic Resonance Imaging, proved to be the most sensitive and specific in detecting lesions and volume changes in Multiple Sclerosis.
