Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the intrinsic uniformity and intrinsic spatial resolution parameters of the gamma camera Toshiba GCA 901A/SA at St. Luke's Hospital and compare the results with NEMA standards. The methodology of the study was the setting up of modern specific quality control protocols based on the latest NEMA methods, applying them in a programme of twenty tests throughout seven working days and obtaining results for the intrinsic uniformity and spatial resolution. The results indicate that values are within NEMA standards. Means and standard deviations, of the measured values were calculated to serve as baseline values for future QC programmes.
