An inscription on a marble slab lies on the facade of the house at 4, St Mary St, Victoria, Gozo. It is the house where Anton or - as he was called ,by everybody - Ninu Cremona was born. There is another marble slab on the other side of St Savina Square at 3, St Ursola St where he spent his last years. When Ninu was only five he unfortunately lost his father. His uncle from the maternal side, Achille Pace, who at that time lived in Tunis took care of him and took him there. He soon sent his nephew to the Christian Brothers School, and later to St Charles College run by the White Fathers. Ninu used to recount how he used to run away from school and roam through the streets of Tunis.en_GB
