Department of Systems & Control Engineering Community home page Statistics

The Department of Systems and Control Engineering aims to address the two important and inter-related fields of Systems Engineering and Automatic Control Engineering comprising the areas of systems theory, automatic control, signal processing and intelligent systems. This discipline has emerged in response to the need for addressing the analysis, design and development of complex engineering systems made up of hardware interface components, electronic circuitry and digital systems that need to operate automatically and as autonomously as possible. These include systems such as automated process controllers for the manufacturing industry; control of air, space, land and marine vehicles; biomedical equipment for prosthetic control by brain signals and much more. The Department of Systems and Control Engineering is active in both teaching and research. It delivers study units in system modelling, signal processing, classical and modern control theory, intelligent control, automation and robotics.
