Abstract: In laboratory tests, dieldrin and diazinon, both at 0.4% active ingredient, produced 100% mortality in adults of Cerambyx dux Faldermann in Malta. Carbaryl at the same concentration gave poor results. Dieldrin's effect was faster than that of diazinon, even at short-term exposures. Observations made throughout the experiments showed varying behavioral patterns and toxic symptoms for the different chemicals, and in females exposed to dieldrin an apparent inhibition of mating desire and oviposition was observed.
