Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study is that of analyzing the effects of the recent war – the Libyan crisis on Maltese companies that did business in the Libyan market. This purpose was mainly achieved through several interviews with CEO's and managers of local business firms which conduct a part of their business in Libya. Design: The dissertation consists of an analysis on the subject matter in literature followed by the findings from several semi-structured interviews carried out with specific Maltese companies that conducted business in Libya. Scope: The main aim of this dissertation is that of analyzing if Maltese traders knew and considered the risks normally associated with a country like Libya where policies could change overnight. The net effect of the Libyan crisis would be analyzed and the future prospects for Maltese business in Libya would be then concluded.
