Abstract: | This study about negativity at workplace shares an academic review of the dysfunctional behavior typical for the corporate environment. Further, these reviews are compared with the perceptions of the interviewed managers-practitioners, who took part in this research and spoke about the negativity in the workplace. The interviewed respondents have a common professional background, as all of them have been working in large IT corporations. The research describes the reasons that the managers-respondents construe behind the certain negative moods in the teams and standalone employees. It maps managerial practices with specific dysfunctional forms of behavior as the solution to or the prevention of workplace negativity. Considering the respondent’s managerial tenure, as some of them managed the teams for more than a decade, it is hoped that this work will be a significant contribution to the people management practices and will have a practical value to the readers who work or aim to take on the peoplemanager role. |
