Within the last three or four years our islands have surged to an almost incredible limitless demand and to an apex of such popularity among tourists that the position as it stands today seems hard to surpass; yet the indications far the future seem to point to even higher figures and greater demands. Welcome as this influx is far the obvious economical stability that it brings with it, from the architectural point of view it requires a deeper investigation. The present state of conditions indicates that Malta is facing its largest building period ever, and that the final result and the visual and aesthetical product will depend an the quality of architecture and building erected during this period.
