Abstract: The Corona virus outbreak has generated considerable interest as a subject of scholarly research. A Google Scholar scan for “COVID-19”, conducted on 31st May 2020, yielded over 100,000 thousand hits. The present study is intended to add to the literature by testing the hypothesis that travel connectivity and the climate of a country were important factors affecting the rate of recorded 3 virus infection across countries, between January and May 2020. 4 Regression analysis is used to test the stated hypothesis. The study will also shed light on whether country size made a difference.
