Abstract: Every aspect of daily life is affected by public policy decisions. The formulation of policies takes place at all levels of government. Several issues arise, growing more complex. The manner by which important policy decisions are taken, is of utmost importance. These challenges demand rigorous analysis, the capacity to weigh and assess alternative policy choices, and a subtle understanding of the strategies required to convert policy choices into tangible impact. Public Life in Malta III is a compilation of ten contributions emanating from the recent research and critical thinking of various academics and practitioners. The papers are organised under three main headings, namely, politics and governance; public management and policy making; and civil society and social engagement. The book has been finalised during extraordinary times with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic constituting an unprecedented challenge. In fact, Public Life in Malta begins with an analytical piece on the challenging times of this global pandemic.
