| Abstract: | To investigate the action of air pollution and the influence of marine aerosols on the weathering of historical monuments, the Church of Sta. Marija Ta'Cwerra in Malta has been selected for an extensive study. The research programme includes the chemical examination of the weathered stone at the outside and the inside of the building. Monitoring of environmental parameters (total deposition, aerosols and meteorological data) has been carried out for more than one year. |
