Abstract: | Most writers I on criminal law invariably address, if not initiate, a discussion on the powers of the police to investigate crime, by asserting the necessity to strike a balance between those powers and the rights of the citizen. In other words any statute purporting to regulate the investigation of crimes should reflect a balance between the powers necessary for police officers to fulfill their duties and the protection of a person's civil and political rights. |
