Abstract: The dissertation is an analysis of the performance of a sample of students over three years. This sample consisted of a homogeneous group of final year Primary students in 1978. An item analysis was carried out on their annual examination paper in the Primary School. The distribution of their raw scores was also studied. The following scholastic year, these students were traced in their Secondary Schools. In 1980 when the students were in Form Two they sat for a test whose problems were identical to those in the test paper of 1978. An error analysis was then conducted in order to study their progress within 1978 till 1980. Correlation was also analysed and the coefficients of correlation for the three years were found.
