Abstract: | One way of approaching current trends in education is to trace in the past influences that have produced them. Some of the essential problems of education remain~ fundamentally the same from age to age; they are perennial problems of education. Ohteres change and only a record remains of the past ones; yet their observation and study remain equally valid. The essential problems of education, however must be interpreted afresh in every age, and in a time like ours a complex one of rapid change without precedent an attempt must also be made to look into the characters of a particular education system through details of organization and practice. This end can be reached through a close-up study of a school story. With distinctive features on one hand, common aspects on the other, a case study of a school story can contribut~ greatly to the understanding of the history of centralized educational system. |
