Abstract: | In this work, the authors intend to reveal the extent to which I communication is carried out in State Secondary School classes, concerning adolescents of ages raging from fourteen to sixteen years. After a survey of literatures about communication and adolescence they show how adolescents communicate in the community their personal needs and interests. The dissertation identifies various factors which work on our adolescents which compel them to participate or not in the classroom environment, especially during lessons of Social Studies, Religion, Maltese and English because these are four compulsory subjects in each and every Secondary School in which discussion is most likely to take place. In order to produce a comprehensive piece of work based on authentic sources, Ms. Doris Borg and Ms. Catherine Bonello conducted various interviews, observed students and teachers during lessons, made pilot studies, took time-samples and processed data of a questionnaire. Information gathered through the above mentioned activates throws light on how and to What extent young adolescent students and teachers are communicating relevant aspects of everyday life to each other. |
