La 'T.V. dei Ragazzi' in Italia e il suo seguito a Malta

Abstract

This study provides an analysis of children's television programmes in Italy. The work is divided into four chapters. Chapter 1 gives information on how Italian children's tv was in the past and how it developed, and it gives the detailed references to make important events and programmes. In chapter 2 today's Italian tv programmes for children are analysed, pointing out changes that have taken place. Chapter 3 is a report on a research project I carried out in four Maltese primary schools among one hundred 8-year-old children. This research will seek to give information on the children's preferences regarding the programmes shown everyday, with particular reference to present Italian programmes that are popular among them. Finally chapter 4 will analyse children's tv as a pedogeological medium considering the positive and negative effects that tv can have on children. All this will be based on the two Italian tv programmes which children I interviewed have declared as the most popular among them.
