Abstract: The main aim behind the creation of this educational website for the teaching of Maltese was due to the lack of similar material for children on the Internet. This educational website focuses on one main theme, being, 'People who help us'. This website is divided into 3 main sections addressing children, teachers and parents. The children's section includes various activities related to vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing. The teacher's section includes lesson plans, handouts and flashcards. This section also outlines a number of ideas such as educational visits that can be integrated with the theme of the website. The parents' section summarizes a number of ideas that can help them with their children. Moreover parents can access a set of handouts which children can work at home. The pilot study was carried out in 3 different state schools in Malta, where 25 children were observed while browsing through the website. Questionnaires were given to 10 teachers and 15 parents. These questionnaires proved further more the potential of the educational website presented, as a useful resource in the teaching of Maltese in the primary years.
