The teacher's involvement in school and out of school activities

Abstract

This piece of work is concerned with the many faceted work the Maltese teacher is involved in carrying out his duty. It shows not only the teacher's work in the normal classroom situation but also when at home and in his free time. It investigates how much he is dedicated to his profession. The information contained in this report comes from a survey conducted by means of a questionnaire which was distributed among teachers teaching at primary and secondary level in Government and Private schools in the Maltese Islands. The report contradicts the assumption that a teachers day starts and ends with the ringing of the school bell.
