Letture facili per la quarta media : adattamento del romanzo 'Va' dove ti porta il cuore' di Susanna Tamaro

Abstract

In this dissertation we present an easy reader in Italian for Form IV students, adapted from the modern Italian novel "Va' dove ti porta il cuore" written by Susanna Tamaro. Our work aims at providing students with a reader that can help them master better the Italian language as well as it can help them acquire a large number of vocabulary that is commonly used by the native language speakers. As an introduction to the text, we have also included some information about the cities that are continuously mentioned in the novel, thus help the readers understand better the geography and the background of the main characters. In this section we have given some information about the authoress. While working on this reader we always tried to find adequate words which are frequently used in the mass media in order to leave the language within the reach of the students. Besides, this dissertation includes didactic exercises linked to the text and a group of language puzzle games that can help students improve their skills while acquiring more knowledge in the language. The didactic appendix includes also a glossary and a list of idiomatic expressions that are present in the adaptation of the novel. Our quantitative and qualitative analysis has shown that our selection of frequently used words was done on a scientific basis.
