Abstract: To Investigate reward preferences of girls aged nine to fourteen. A modified version of the Dunn Rankin et al (1965) test instrument was administered to 450 girls in grades 4 to B, attending a private school in Malia. Five categories of rewards were investigated these being; adult approval, peer approval, competitive approval, independence rewards and consumable rewards. Reward preferences were studied in relation to three main variables : age, scholastic attainment and nail biting.
