Analiżi fit-taħdit Għarbi

Abstract

In this dissertation, the comprehension section of the book Qari, Kitba, Konverzazzjoni u Grammatika, Volume III, Malta, 1986, was analyzed linguistically. This study began with an analysis of phonology and a study of morphology followed. Syntax was later discussed and the lexis was finally commented upon. It is hoped that enough material has been presented to show that in phonology just the basic elements were treated, that in morphology and syntax a more advanced treatment was noted, whilst in lexis, a more general basic approach was detected. All in all, this analysis should help the teacher of Arabic in Malta to understand the text better, and to communicate more easily with the student of Arabic.
