Abstract: In this dissertation the authors present a field study scheme which could be carried out by students staying at Villa Psaigon. The proposed field study scheme was inspired by the work done by c. Mlilo and M. Parisi (1978) and the criticism of this work by R. Camilleri and G. Micallef (1979). Although the above cited works have been of great help to us, there is a fundamental difference between their work and the proposed field study scheme; this field study scheme consists of a set of ecological studies focusing on different ecological habitats. These ecological studies are intended to present ecology as an integrated whole. Suggestions are given in the end part of this dissertation for an evaluation and a try out of the proposed work scheme to assess its feasibility for future use by secondary school students undertaking a field study course at Villa Psaigon.
