Abstract: The main focus of this inquiry is the development of a safety education programme for Maltese primary schools. For such a programme to be cultivated, the study opens with the exploration of what safety and safety education entail, as well as some of the influential factors affecting children's safety. Within the methodological framework, the author discusses the ideologies, psychological implications and hidden agendas that form the basis of the programme's design. The results of the implementation of the proposed programme are recorded and assessed and finally recommendations for improving the general safety status in Malta are highlighted.
