Citation: Delceppo, R. (1986). The acquisition of English phonology by the Maltese child (Bachelor's dissertation).
Abstract: This is a study on a group of ten children of six years of age. This study aims at studying the children's knowledge of English at the beginning of their school life after one year of English at school. I will analyse the data collected in order to discuss whether they are learning English simply as part of their first language or as a separate system. Emphasis will be placed on the phonemic differences of the two languages and the rhythmic composition of the children's utterances.
