Abstract: The Thematic Approach is believed to make the child the centre of all learning. In this dissertation it will be explained the importance of Topic Work as a teaching style. It will be discussed in relation to both the Primary and Secondary Sector in a way which makes it feasible in the Maltese context. Literature review will be analysed and compared to local situations. Part of this study will focus on the results obtained from a field work carried out from teachers. Personal experience in using the Thematic Approach will also be mentioned. Furthermore recommendations will be given about introducing the Thematic Approach in the Primary and Secondary Sector.
