Abstract: This study is about four hearing-impaired children and about the mathematical concept of time. The pupils' performance and their main causes of difficulties are outlined in the course of the study. Observations in schools and activities about time with hearing and hearing-impaired children were carried out, together with interviews with their parents. The results of these observations and activities are discussed in the study and general findings and suggestions are given in the conclusion. The possible reasons for the differences and similarities between the hearing and the hearing impaired children are discussed. Both hearing and hearing-impaired children share the difficulties due to the use of the English language in mathematics. Hearing impairment resulted to be a risk factor for children, but not necessarily a cause of difficulty. The performance of the hearing-impaired children in view of all this is considered to be satisfactory. The role parents play in the education of their children was also considered to be one of the factors contributing to the academic progress of the children.
