Abstract: "Health-related fitness" is the main focus in our comparative study. Health-Related Fitness (HRF) is an essential element for each and every individual, and thus we decided to carry out a pilot study. Luckily enough, fitness testing is being introduced in the Primary schools. One has to note that health-related fitness is now being further promoted with the inclusion of HRF in the Physical Education programmes (including the SEC syllabus). This should induce in our children the importance of the issue of health awareness which will equip them with the right approach towards an active lifestyle. The literature review includes a clear picture of the various components of physical fitness related to health. The Eurofit Test Battery can be another tool to complement the teachers' work and effort as regards physical fitness. Through these tests, norms can also be established giving an opportunity to compare against other test results. In this study, forty-seven children underwent the tests. These children were divided in two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was submitted to a fitness programme so that a comparative analysis utilizing the Eurofit Test Battery could be executed with the control group. The study showed that regular weekly physical activity enhances children's cardiorespiratory endurance. Furthermore, it was found that levels of skinfold measurements go lower with the aid of continuous and regular physical activity. In the other Eurofit tests there were no statistically significant differences between the control and the experimental group. At the end of this research a number of recommendations are proposed. These are directed towards the parents, clubs and nurseries, mass media and primary schools.
