Abstract: | The “other” or the differences between the destination and home can also be amplified (sometimes in an artificial way) so as to provide an experience of sorts which may range from the inauthentic or staged to the authentic and real. The case presented here, of British tourists visiting Malta, demonstrates something slightly more complicated: an instance of finding Britain from an “other” era on an island away from the Britain of today. |
